Private Tennis Lessons

Private tennis lessons are 1-on-1 or 2-on-1 sessions with an experienced tennis coach that are tailored to the individual needs and skill level of the student. These lessons provide a personalized approach to learning the game of tennis, allowing the coach to focus on the specific areas of improvement for the student. Private tennis lessons can be a great way to improve your skills and take your game to the next level.

Personalized Approach

Private tennis lessons offer individualized instruction tailored specifically to the needs and goals of each individual player, regardless of skill level - Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. The coach can focus on improving specific aspects of the player's game, and adjust the pace and intensity of the lesson to match their skill level and personal goals.

During a private tennis lesson, the coach will work with the student to improve their technique, footwork, agility, and overall game strategy. They may also provide feedback on the student's strengths and weaknesses, and offer tips and drills to help the student make progress more quickly than in group tennis lessons where the coach must divide their attention among multiple students.

Private Tennis Lessons VS Group Tennis Lessons

Unsure if private tennis coaching is what you need?

We often get asked whether private or group tennis sessions are better suited for the player. Deciding between private or group tennis lessons ultimately depends on your personal preferences, budget, and tennis goals. Below are some factors to consider when deciding if you should take up private or group tennis lessons.

Who is Private Tennis For?

Players who need individualized technique correction

With private tennis lessons, coaches can offer individualized instruction, identify and correct any technical flaws in the player's technique, which can help to prevent injuries and ensure safe and healthy play. Group tennis lessons, on the other hand, offer less individualized attention as coaches must divide their attention among several players.

Players who need higher level of coaching for advanced players

Private tennis lessons provide 1-on-1 access to a highly qualified and experienced coach who can offer expert advice and analysis of your game and playing style. This is beneficial for advanced players who are looking to take their game to the next level. Group lessons may be a better fit if you are a beginner or intermediate player looking to improve your overall skills and enjoy the social aspect of the game.

Players who need to train and improve skills for tennis tournaments

Private tennis lessons can be goal-oriented and targeted towards specific objectives or troubleshooting a particular weak spot of your game. For example, a player may want to prepare for a tennis tournament or work on improving a specific part of their game, and a private lesson can be designed to achieve these goals.

More FAQs on Private Tennis Lessons

I am a beginner. Should I take up private tennis lessons?

If you are new to the sport, group tennis sessions would be a good way to learn about the game. Group classes are generally cheaper and more structured, with a clear lesson plan mapped out aimed at setting a strong foundation of the game.

Once you have a good understanding of the basics of tennis, you can consider doing a combination of group and private lessons. Through private tennis lessons, the coach can help to fine tune your techniques and playing postures that can become a bad habit if allowed to continue over time.

I want to improve my skills quickly. How many private sessions do I need in a week?

Players should use private tennis sessions as a way to have someone diagnose weak areas and correct your techniques.

If you want to rapidly develop your tennis skills, we recommend regular private tennis sessions, around once a week or once in two weeks.

It is important to note though, that even if you are taking regular private lessons, it is advisable that you do your own independent practice sessions to work on what you've learnt from your private coach.

What equipment do I need to bring for my private tennis lesson?

Please ensure that you have your own tennis racket and have proper tennis wear (tennis shoes, cap, towel etc.) Other tennis equipment (such as tennis balls, skipping rope, etc) will be provided by the coach.

What happens in the case of rainy weather?

We will inform you at least 1 hour in advance if lesson has to be cancelled due to bad weather. We will work with you to reschedule the lesson.
